Prayer of Light

Artist: Ani Zonneveld

Music: George Landress/Ani Zonneveld  Lyrics: A prayer of Prophet Muhammad

O Allah! Grant me light in my heart

Light in my grave, Light in front of me

Light behind me

Light to my right and Light to my left

Light above me, Light below me

Light in my bones

O Allah!

Increase my light everywhere

O Allah!

O Allah!

Grant me Light in my heart

Ameen, Ameen

Light on my skin and Light in my hair

Light in my flesh, Light in my blood

Light within myself

Light on my tongue, Light in my eyes my ears

Light in front of me, Light behind me

Increase my light!

O Allah!

Increase my Light everywhere

O Allah!

Grant the Light in my heart

Ameen, Ameen, Ameen, Ameen

The Fatihah

Music: George Landress/ Ani Zonneveld  Lyrics: adapted from a translation by Sir Richard Burton

Praise be to GOD

Who all the worlds made

Gracious, and Merciful, the Compassionate

King and Queen of the Day of Faith!

Only thee do we adore, and only Thee do we crave aid

Guide us to the path which is straight

The path of those for whom Thy love is great

Not those on whom is hate, nor they that deviate

Ameen! O Lord of the World's trine

Come Come

Artist: Ani Zonneveld

Music: George Landress/Ani Zonneveld Lyrics adapted from Rumi

Come, come, whoever you are

Wonderer or worshipper

Lover of leaving

It doesn't matter

Ours is not a caravan of despair

Come, even if you have broken your vow

Again, a thousand times, yet again

Come, come, come, come

In My Soul

Artist: Ani Zonneveld

Music: George Landress/Ani Zonneveld Lyrics adapted from Rabi'a Basri (717-801 CE)

In my Soul there is a temple, shrine, a mosque, a church where I kneel.

Prayer should bring us to an altar where no walls or names exist.

Is there not a region of where Love does not illuminate

Where ecstasy gets poured into itself, becomes lost

Haa Haa Haa Haa

Where the wing is fully lived but has no mind or body?

In my Soul there is a temple, shrine, a mosque, a church that dissolves

Haa Haa Haa Haa

that dissolves in God

Haa Haa Haa Haa

that dissolves in God

Song for Allah

Artist: Ani Zonneveld

Music: George Landress/Ani Zonneveld  Lyrics: George Landress/Ani Zonneveld

Adapted from Rabi'a Basri (717-801 CE)

Whenever I listen to the voice of anything you've made

The rustling of the trees

The trickling of water

The cries of the birds

The flickering of shadow

The roar of the wind

I can hear it saying:

Allah, One Love, Allah, One Love

The song of the thunder

Mother Nature's wonder

I can hear it saying

God is everywhere

Allah, One Love, Allah, One Love

You're the corners of the earth

The universe, the galaxies

Yet closer than my heart

You're in the air I breathe in

I'm really excited about this new collection of songs in a new genre "Islamic Hymns". I'm co-writing & co-producing it with George Landress with backing vocal arrangement by Michael Mishaw. The music borrows from classical music with lots of choral arrangements. The lyrics is in English and Islamic in content.
